A fence for the way you use your property
A wood fence can give a Dallas backyard a more private edge, but the layout deserves as much attention as the boards. Think through the route from the driveway to the back yard, the space around outdoor equipment, and which section actually needs screening. We can compare a complete new fence with replacing only an aging run.
Start with the purpose, not just the photograph. We can review the proposed line, gate locations, existing fence condition and your priorities, then discuss a defined installation or repair scope.

Compare stockade with overlapping board-on-board when the main goal is screening a patio or backyard. A cap-and-trim finish changes the appearance, while a walk gate changes how the yard works. Mark the mower route and any equipment that must remain accessible before settling on the line.
Wood gives you the broadest range of traditional board layouts, from full backyard screening to an open rail boundary. Compare the view from both sides, the maintenance you are comfortable with and how the fence will follow the property.
At the property visit, look at both sides, the ground below the proposed line and the approach to each opening. Discuss what stays, what comes out and what will happen at transitions. A written scope should distinguish new work from retained components and identify the workmanship coverage that applies.

This rear view shows the rails and posts behind a vertical-board privacy fence. Discuss which face will show from your property and how the line will meet changes in grade.

Open spacing lets light and views through the fence. Match the gate's picket pattern and review the openings around pets, children and everyday access.

A curved upper profile adds a decorative rhythm between posts. Confirm the height at the peaks and low points, the board spacing and the matching gate treatment.

Solid gray infill gives a consistent screened boundary. Confirm the selected color, post reinforcement and gate framing in the written proposal.

White panels and capped posts create a clean privacy fence. Review the panel system, height, care instructions and the amount of screening you need.

The corner and return are part of the finished design, not an afterthought. Discuss transitions, post locations and how the panels meet changes in level.

A walk gate should connect the routes you actually use. A wider opening may be needed for mowers, equipment or deliveries. Mark those paths on your sketch and discuss latch access, travel direction and the room needed on both sides.
For an automatic driveway or commercial gate, include who needs access, power arrangements and a separate pedestrian route in the initial conversation. We can review gates as a standalone project or as part of the fence installation.
A damaged panel and a failing line are not the same problem. Compare the posts at ground level, rail connections, adjacent sections and gate supports. A localized repair can be sensible when the retained components remain serviceable.
Send a close-up, a wider view and a description of what changed. For powered gates, avoid unsafe operation and include equipment identification only if it is safely accessible. Photos help us prepare; the final scope may require an on-site assessment.

For a leaning privacy line, photograph the posts at ground level as well as the panels. Replacing boards will not resolve a failing support, while a single damaged panel may not justify replacing sound sections.
