What workmanship coverage means

The warranty addresses a failure caused directly by defective original workmanship by DJ Fence & Gate. Covered examples may include installation of posts, rails, panels, pickets, hardware, or other components when the cause is determined to be our installation.

For a covered issue, DJ Fence & Gate repairs or corrects the affected workmanship at no charge for labor. Coverage applies to the affected portion, not an automatic replacement of the entire fence.

What is not covered

The written warranty excludes material defects and natural wood changes such as warping, twisting, checking, cracking, splitting, shrinking, expansion, discoloration, knots, sap, and decay. These are not automatically evidence of an installation defect.

Other exclusions include weather and storm damage, impact, animals, vandalism, misuse, neglect, normal wear, ground movement, settling, erosion, drainage and soil conditions, vegetation, improper maintenance, modifications by others, corrosion, deterioration, chemicals, standing water, and changes around the property. Original customer and property

Limited lifetime residential coverage remains in effect only while the original customer owns the property where the fence was installed. It does not transfer to a new owner.

Commercial, industrial, government, multifamily, and general-contractor projects have separate written terms. Repair work and work involving existing materials also have separate limits.

How to report a concern

Contact DJ Fence & Gate within a reasonable time after discovering a possible issue. Include your name, project address, approximate installation date, a description of the concern, and photos if available.

We need a reasonable opportunity to inspect the work and determine the cause before coverage is approved. DJ Fence & Gate determines the appropriate repair method for covered workmanship.

Important limitations

The warranty includes limitations on incidental and consequential damages, loss of use, landscaping damage, pet containment, security losses, and other indirect damages to the extent permitted by law. Manufacturer warranties have their own terms and claim procedures.

Review the complete written warranty alongside your proposal. If a term is unclear, ask us to explain it before authorizing the work.
